I have produced a range of corporate films for product launches, brand building and awareness, complete series and one off promotional pieces. Despite the soaring consumption of video content on various plaforms, there is no replacement for effective story telling and good marketing - the two concepts go hand in hand. Video continues to rise in the realm of consumer decision making, yet the disconnect between the content produced and the strategy used to drive business results is stagering. Good story-telling is all about context. Whilst a product video can be straight to the point, ie "here's what we sell, what it does and how much it costs", luxury brands will tell you that "features and benefits" type product videos don't always sell products - perception does, affinty to the brand does. Story-telling a brand sometimes requires barely mentioning the actual product, if at all! Understanding the type of product or service you sell and the audience you're trying to reach will determine the way in which you story-tell your brand. There is no "one size fits all", which is why just "getting video" is not going to do the job. Amazing video content that doesn't get seen is pointless.
